I fil­med this flag at the Com­mu­nist Par­ty head­quar­ters in Livor­no in Ita­ly. It’s in very bad shape, torn to pieces as a sym­bol of its decline.
Some­times a sound­track broad­casts, (at 2’13 / 16’35 / 27’44), an extract of the fune­ral ora­tion for the death of Pier Pao­lo Paso­li­ni pro­clai­med by his friend and poet Alber­to Mora­via on 5 Novem­ber 1975 :
“So we have lost this extra­or­di­na­ry Poet who crea­ted some­thing total­ly new in Ita­ly, he crea­ted the Left Civil Poetry!”*

* in refe­rence to his reve­rence for Gramsci.

J’ai fil­mé ce dra­peau au siège du par­ti com­mu­niste à Livor­no en Ita­lie. Il est en très mau­vais état, déchi­que­té, tel un sym­bole de son déclin.
De temps en temps une bande sonore dif­fuse, (à 2’13 / 16’35 / 27’44), un extrait de l’o­rai­son funèbre en hom­mage à Pier Pao­lo Paso­li­ni pro­cla­mée par son ami et poète Alber­to Mora­via le 5 novembre 1975 :
“Nous avons donc per­du ce Poète extra­or­di­naire qui a créé quelque chose de tota­le­ment nou­veau en Ita­lie, il a créé la Poé­sie civile de gauche !”. *
