“Deliberately focused on the experimental since its opening, the Kamer 9 gallery, owned by artist-collector Baudouin Oosterlynck, presents the work of Chantal Vey, who here concentrates on mapped territory. The seismograph of her cartography weaves its web around a figure who has haunted her personal journey for years : Pier Paolo Pasolini. The work and life of the Italian filmmaker obsess her deeply. One of her latest cartographies concerns the novel Petrolio, which she revisits for the 50th anniversary of Pasolini’s death, like an investigator searching for connections in a constant effort to unravel a mystery.”
